I got married at Cricket Hill Ranch in May, and it was everything I ever dreamed of for my wedding venue and more! I had a lot of guests from outside of Texas, so I wanted to give them an authentic Texas Hill Country experience while still reflecting my modern tastes. I chose to have both my ceremony and dinner in the beautiful Great Room to avoid the Texas heat, which was a decision both my guests and I appreciated! Dancing was in the barn, and there was a nice breeze flowing through the doors that kept the space cool. The reason I first fell in love with this venue is that it feels like a home rather than an “event space.” The on-site bride and groom’s suites were so convenient and comfortable, and my guests enjoyed having so many options to explore between the great room, the upstairs and downstairs patios, the lawn, and the barn.
I love this venue so much, I chose to hold my rehearsal dinner and a post-wedding Sunday brunch there as well! April was so incredibly kind and helpful both before the wedding (which was a long period of time - I booked way back in December 2015!) as well as at all three of my events. She truly cares about the people she hosts, and goes above and beyond to make sure your event is exactly the way you want it. I encourage anyone looking for a venue to visit Cricket Hill Ranch - I guarantee you will fall in love with it too!
This place was absolutely amazing. From the venue itself to the people that run it. From the beginning of the wedding festivities to the end this venue has exactly what any bride and groom are looking for. I was a bridesmaid and got to experience getting ready in the amazing bridal suite on location of the venue. We were able to go in early so we had plenty of time to get ready which was really nice. The groom suite is even better! Pool table, tvs and a bar! What else could they ask for!? The house obviously can accommodate for an inside wedding but if you're able to do it outside you will feel like you're in a Pinterest fairy tail. They had a beautiful ceremony area as well as where they can set up for an outside dinner. It truly was a dream ( and I have to admit..I was kicking myself that I didn't find the venue for my own wedding). But a venue is only half the battle to make sure the wedding day is perfect. The venue owner and her team make this venue jump up to top notch. They were the most accommodating and fabulous people you could ask for. The owner herself did multiple things before and during the wedding that truly took me by surprise. She was there to serve the bride and groom and do whatever she had to to make it happen. She is an amazing woman along with her entire staff. If you are debating where to get married..do not any longer! You would be lucky to get a chance to have a wedding here!
The best decision I made during the wedding planning process was choosing Cricket Hill Ranch for my venue. I looked at over 10 venues and none made me feel that spark of magic I was looking for. From the first second I saw Cricket Hill Ranch in person, I knew this would be my venue. When we first met April, the owner of the venue, she made us feel SO welcomed. She clearly is in this business because she wants her brides to have the most special day possible, and when the day of came around, she made sure my day was exactly what I wanted it to be.
There are SO many beautiful areas in this venue that it will match the style and visions of ANY bride. The inside grand room is amazing, the lawn where our ceremony took place was perfect as it is surrounded with the most beautiful natural landscaping, and the barn is the best location for an epic reception/dance party. My guests continue to rave about how beautiful this venue was. It is elegant in architecture, plush with green surroundings, and still has a rustic feel to it with the barn and wooden deck. This venue was exactly I was looking for visually, but the best thing about it is, you're not just getting the most beautiful venue in the area, you're also getting a venue owner and a day of coordinator, Aubrey, who will make sure your day is EVERYTHING you've dreamed it to be.
As you will learn as a bride, no matter how meticulous you are in planning this wedding, no matter how many details you make sure are covered and perfectly planned, something will go wrong, whether it be big or small. When we arrived at the venue (at 11:00 am with no extra charge!), of course we realized there were things we did not think of. April and Aubrey went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure these small details were fixed and worked even harder to make sure I did not get stressed out about them. April is not just a venue owner that takes your money and that's that. She stayed involved in our wedding from the second we first visited until even after the day of helping us with returns and what not. She was present throughout the ceremony and reception and made sure everyone was happy and having a good time. Any small hiccup that happened when the wedding started, she worked so hard to help solve it.
The day of coordinator, Aubrey, is truly an amazing wedding planner. I am a control freak, which makes it hard to trust others with such an important day. When I first met her a few months before the wedding, I was instantly relieved because I knew she would do everything it took to make this day so special and perfect for me- which is EXACTLY what she did. I paid her extra to get there at 11 because I knew setting up tables and decor and helping with unexpected problems would take a while, and it was 100% worth it. She set up the decor for my dinner tables and WOW! They looked straight out of Pinterest and were just what I had envisioned for the last year of planning. She is precise with details, stern when it comes to keeping things on track, and works so hard to make sure the bride and groom are happy and having a good time. With Aubrey, it is 100% about you, and she worked so hard the entire day and night to keep it that way.
I can't talk them up enough; I could go on and on about how amazing they are. Once you meet them, you will see exactly what I mean. If you're looking for a venue that will take your guests' breath away, and have two women help make your day perfect, then you MUST book CHR!!
Short and sweet... I think it's important to mention that this is the 1st review I've ever written about a venue before.. I have been a bridesmaid in over 8 weddings, all over Texas, and this is hands down THE MOST BEAUTIFUL wedding venue I've seen. I wish I would have been married here. Not only is it beautiful, but the most amazing group of people run the events. When we got there, we realized we needed ice and had no one to run the errand. April must have overheard us because without hesitation she offered to go pick it up. Meanwhile, the coordinator, Aubrey, was making every dream of the brides come true. She created a total "Pinterest" wedding. Everything was over the top gorgeous. Fast forward to the reception and we ran out of a specific kind of liquor. They went and got it for us!! I couldn't believe it. From the beginning to the very end, they were over the top accommodating. I highly recommend this venue to any bride! Thank you so much April, Aubrey, and everyone behind the scenes who made this wedding so incredible.
I was a bridesmaid in a wedding the first week of June which took place at Cricket Hill Ranch. I don't have enough great things to say about this venue. The girl's suite was incredible. We had an open area to lounge, personal mirrors and plenty of space, plus a giant bathroom and closet (what more could a girl ask for?!). My favorite part of the girl's suite was the balcony that overlooked the entire outdoor venue. It was beautiful.
The day of the wedding, we encountered rain about 2 hours into the reception. Cricket Hill Ranch quickly had Plan B in place and was able to accommodate all guests either dancing in the barn, enjoying cocktails under the balcony/overhang, or relaxing indoors. The transition was so smooth that the party didn't have to stop. The distance between the dance floor in the barn and the outdoor overhang bar area were not far at all, which made for quick dance breaks, then right back to it!
The owner of the venue was awesome. She clearly knew what she was doing and was able to accommodate all of our amazing bride's requests. The venue is beautiful, inside and outside. I don't have a bad thing to say about this venue and would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, photo-worthy, Austin wedding!
My son and new daughter got married at Cricket Hill on Memorial Day weekend in 2017. April and Todd could not have been more wonderful. They were always in the background making sure that everything was flowing well, and adding little touches like re-purposing wedding flowers for the next day family brunch, helping with decorating, and casually cleaning up so that the venue always looked great. The many places for people to sit and chat, dance and gather made the whole wedding feel very intimate. It's elegant without being stuffy, and the Hill country views are spectacular. I highly recommend them.
My son and new daughter were married at Cricket Hill Ranch at the end of May. Cricket Hill Ranch is stunning, but not stuffy, allowing for an elegant, intimate wedding. The venue has so many places for people to gather and reconnect. The barn for those who wanted to party, the outside sitting areas for those who wanted to talk, the porches for the ones who couldn't walk far, and the second story balcony with it's fabulous views of the hill country for miles. April and her family and staff went way beyond what I would have expected, making things smooth for the guests, helping to decorate, packing up leftovers, and keeping gifts and personal items secure. I thought it was a wonderful venue, and I recommend April and her staff highly.
This venue was seriously a dream! We had some great weather day of the wedding, which obviously helped, but the venue itself was the perfect setting for Courtney and Gable's wedding. The bridal party suites (one for the bridesmaids and one for the groomsmen) were perfect - us bridesmaids spent the morning drinking mimosas and getting ready in the large bathroom, lounging in the comfy chairs, and taking photos out on the upstairs balcony that overlooked the ceremony area and had beautiful views all around. April was so accommodating and helpful, she really made us feel welcomed. The barn area was awesome - we danced for hours and had a blast! This was one of the best weddings I've ever been to and not just because of the lovely couple we were celebrating - the overall incredible experience we had was in large part due to the amazing venue!
If you are looking for a perfect place to create great memories, you found it! The venue is perfect for accommodating a large event but yet still making it seem small so you can spend quality time with all your family and guests. April and her husband Todd are simply committed to ensuring your day is perfect. The set up of the main house is a dream! Room for everyone to get ready, take photos, relax and create good times before the main event. My best friend was married here and the wedding was amazing and perfect in every way. In addition, I just spent a weekend at Cricket Hill as a girls weekend away! Another perfect time at the venue. I highly recommend booking the bunk house. So adorable and perfect for staying at the venue so you don't need to drive. I truly couldn't say enough nice things about the venue and staff. Highly recommend for a wedding, family reunion or just a girls getaway!
My husband and I got married at Cricket Hill Ranch 6 months ago. My husband knew this was going to be our venue before we even went to visit. Once we did, we instantly fell in love with April, the owner. What April and Todd have created is such a magical place to get married. Between the beautiful indoor and outdoor options, suites for getting ready, spectacular view, and barn to dance the night away, we knew that we could not find a more perfect place to have our wedding! Due to the rain, our ceremony was moved to the house indoors the morning of, which only made our wedding more intimate and personal. With April, Todd, and Aubrey (the wedding coordinator) I did not have to worry about a thing! Absolutely nothing went wrong with our day! They had great suggestions for vendors and were very accommodating with the wedding package options. They even let us bring our dog! Guys, this was our dream wedding!! Kevin and I could not have imagined a more perfect day or a more perfect place to start our life together. Thank you, April and Todd for giving us the day that we always pictured and always hoped it would be. We always receive nothing but compliments on our perfect and beautiful wedding. Thank you for welcoming us into your little slice of heaven and becoming great friends! We will remember this day forever!
From the gorgeous hill country views to the beautiful details everywhere you look, this is the PERFECT wedding spot! Thank you, April, for a wedding to remember!
April and Todd have created a slice of heaven on earth. My finance and I toured the beautiful land which happened to have a magnificent home in which we booked for our wedding on 4/15/17. From the drive up the driveway to the views off the balcony we were in awe of the beautiful country surrounding the home. It is truly a gift opening their home to host weddings for the hill country. As I planned to shop for wedding dresses in the Austin area I was able to schedule the bunkhouse to have a girls weekend which was absolutely perfect. We enjoyed coffee on the back porch and gave me a chance to reflect and meditate by the wonderful tree where I will become Mrs. Rebecca Taylor in April. You will not be disappointed and highly recommend you tour the property and meet April and Todd to plan and book your wedding at Cricket Hill Ranch.
Hal and I were married on May 21st and it couldn't have been more perfect. I adored everything about the property and the house. The bridal suite is a dream. I enjoyed getting ready almost as much as I enjoyed the rest of the day! April is a doll and her husband is sweet as pie. Aubrey, the coordinator, is super nice and extremely accommodating, understanding, and helpful. There were a lot of things I was uncertain about and she just zoomed in and made things happen smoothly. The weather was on the fence all morning, but I didn't even care because I knew that everything would be taken care of. I had ZERO stress on my wedding day and that is just so unbelievably amazing. Love, love, loved it. Thanks y'all!
My daughter and new son-in-law got married at Cricket Hill yesterday. From the first day we met April and Todd, the owners, and Aubrey, the wedding planner, we knew we would be life long friends! Throughout the wedding planning, rehearsal and wedding day, they were so helpful and accommodating. They came up with amazing ideas for where to place decorations and handled most of the clean-up afterwards. If you're considering a Hill Country wedding venue without any drama or list of "do's and don'ts", this is your place. Without any hesitation, we would choose it again! Thank you April, Todd and Aubrey! God blessed us when he led us to Cricket Hill!
We were married on Nov 7th in the midst of the wet season 🙁 We had to move our outdoor plans inside and it was just as amazing. We used the Barn for the actual ceremony and later for dancing and deserts. Everyone attending had a blast.April and her family truly care about you and jump in to help. We have ~125 guests and 13 vendors and not one problem the day of. Was amazing... love the venue and the family
The place is gorgeous. When you go see it, it speaks for itself. It was the first and only venue my husband and I went to go see for our wedding. As soon as I walked in, I knew it was the one. It lets you enjoy a little bit of both worlds. Its nice, formal, elegant and mansion looking inside with a beautiful spiral staircase.
Outside, its just so country, breathtaking and peaceful. It was exactly what I wanted. I could not have asked for more. Our guests would not stop telling us how much of a beautiful place it was.
Through out the time we booked the wedding up to the wedding day, April was great. She did great at communicating with us. She was even there to give me some stress-relieving messages when I was freaking out. She was so much help, I will never be able to thank her enough.
They day of the wedding, her and Todd did great helping us with everything they could!
I would recommend this place a million times to everyone.
If I could have my wedding every weekend, that's where I would have it, over and over again.
I had the best time of my life at my wedding, and part of that is thanks to this venue and to the help April and Todd provided.
Many thanks to April and Todd.
Cricket Hill Ranch was a God-Send for us. We had visited 7 other venues in the Dripping Springs area and didn't fall in love with any of them. When we just happen to find this little treasure, it was love at first sight. I personally did not want to have my wedding at a place that felt like a venue, and this beautiful ranch gives such a cozy, intimate feeling that no other venue can. The bride and grooms quarters are spacious and perfect to spend the day getting ready. The guys especially loved that pool table!
The views are breathtaking, and the ranch offers multiple ceremony sites and reception options to make your wedding your own. We had our ceremony outside under the beautiful oak tree, dinner in the great room, and dancing in the barn! April and Todd went above and beyond throughout the entire planning process and wedding day. I could not have asked for more helpful, easy going, and kind-hearted people to work with. They take pride in the service and truly care about the couples that they work with. We loved working with them and we know you will too!!
My mom found this place for us as we just got married in September. It was great for the ideal wedding I wanted. Our wedding was originally suppose to be outside under the tree but because of the rain we had to move it inside where it still was just as perfect if not better then I could have imagined! April was so great at having a second plan ready for me the Friday before the wedding in a calm manner so I would not be freaked out.
April and her husband Todd were so great at accommodating me the entire way through. My guests were ranting and raving about how beautiful her place was inside and out!
Take the time to come out and visit so she may be able to make your wedding a dream come true as she did mine!!! We really can't thank them enough!!
Cricket Hill Ranch is an amazing spread in the Hill Country just west of Dripping Springs. From the moment we first visited, we knew this was where we wanted to get married. And given the fact that we had a guest list of 300, it also offers the space for this large amount of guests.
The main house is architecturally stunning and well-planned. The central "great room" was a perfect indoor gathering place for our first dance; the massive kitchen gave plenty of space for the caterers to prep food service; the Groom's suite with pool table, comfy sofas, and plenty of TVs was the perfect diversion from the potentially nervy last hours prior to the ceremony itself; the Bride's quarters offer a huge shower ideal for pampering herself on the day of the event, along with several vanities for bride & bridesmaids to prep hair & make-up.
The house boasts an unbelievable second-story exterior balcony overlooking the grounds and sweeping hill country views--the perfect place to take in the sunset and reflect on the events of the day as the sun went down. The outdoor kitchen & bar under the covered patio is located ideally for drink service & provides enough room for bartenders. And the barn set up nicely to accommodate music and dancing long into the evening.
April and her husband Todd were incredibly accommodating to us as the wedding approached, and on the day of the event. They allowed us to visit multiple times prior to make sure our plans were in place. They were laid back and allowed us to create the event in our vision, yet also were on the spot helping at every turn on the day of the event. We would recommend this venue and April & Todd to any and everyone--our only regret is that we don't have a reason to go back again in the near future!

My son got married at Cricket Hill in March and what an awesome wedding it was!! The venue is absolutely beautiful! The Great Room and The Barn held all our friends and family comfortably and WOW- what a sunset! Its spectacular and proved a gorgeous backdrop for a beautiful, serene ceremony. The Bride and Groom quarters were so relaxing for all involved that day- we had all the comforts of a 5 star hotel. I cant forget to mention April and her husband Todd. They were so kind, organized, and so very helpful with every aspect of the wedding, including our rehearsal dinner we had there as well. My family and I are so thankful for them and for Cricket Hill Ranch! It's definitely a hidden treasure in The Hill Country!
My fiancé and I found this venue via word of mouth after contacting several other venues. It has amazing location options to satisfy whatever feel you are aiming for, from the great room with its stunning views, to the barn reception area, and all of the outside ceremony sites as well. All of the amenities are beautiful, and April, the owner, is fantastic to work with! She truly has made us feel welcomed, which is really important to us.
We absolutely love all of the string lights everywhere, and the bride and grooms suites are to die for! After our first visit, we just knew this was the place for our celebration. There's no where else in the Austin area that gives you this kind of bang for your buck. They are continually improving the aesthetics of the landscaping, so I can only imagine what it will have developed to by next March.
They are good people with good intentions and once the word gets out, I know they will be booked solid.
